Catherine Pooler’s “Call Me” Cards

I fell in love with Catherine Pooler’s Call Me stamp set the second I saw it. Something about that retro phone just called my name. Paired up with Catherine’s incredible inks, I had a great time creating some fun cards.

Catherine Pooler’s “Call Me” stamp set is so fun!

Waffle Flower’s Simply Plaid background stamps making an appearance on this fun card.

For my first card, I wanted to try out a new Waffle Flower Simply Plaid background stamp as well. I chose pixie dust and midnight ink for this card. I put down a bottom layer on my card of black cardstock. The double stitched frame die around the outer edge came from a company out of Indiana called Creek Bank Creations. I cut this out of purple cardstock 4 times and layered them to add dimension. I stamped the plaid background and trimmed it down to leave a nice wide black outline. I stamped the phone and cut it out by hand. (I don’t have the dies for this set, though I need them). I stamped the speech bubble in Hot Tub. The sentiments are stamped in Midnight and heat embossed clear. The numbers for the phone are stamped in versa ink and heat embossed with Lawn Fawn fine white powder. I added the parentheses around the “missing you” sentiment with a fine black tipped marker.

Love this colorful card!

I was drawn to the “Blah,Blah, Blah” stamp included in the set and decided to use it to make a colorful background for my next card. I have some friends that when we finally catch up with a phone call, I’m sure Blah, Blah, Blah is what it must sound like to anyone listening! I used a rainbow of ink selections from Catherine Pooler’s ink. I stamped the phone in Fiesta Blue and midnight black and the speech bubble in pixie dust. I used a circle die to trace a circle leaving the speech bubble “hanging out” over the edge. I cut the circle out by hand. I used nested circle dies to cut the orange and yellow circle mats. I used Divinity Designs Pierced Rectangle dies to make the purple base layer. I think this colorful card may be my favorite.

I have to admit Stevie Wonders “I just called to say I love you” song kept going through my head as I worked with this set. Did anyone else have that happen? Any way The next two cards were pretty basic so I will just list the supplies used and how I used them. You are welcome to email me if you have any questions on them.

Simple, yet effective
  • Divinity Designs Pierced Rectangle Dies: for both bottom layers
  • Waffle Flower Nesting Oval Dies: for oval layers on orange card
  • Catherine Poolers Sauna, Orange Peel, Hot Tub, and Midnight inks: for phones and speech bubbles
  • Vicki Boutin Washi Tapes: on blue card
  • Clear embossing powder : for all sentiments
  • Random small heart die (any would do): on orange card

I had stamped an extra grass green ink phone so decided to go ahead and make a card out of it. I cut Waffle Flower’s Shutter Panel Die out of white cardstock and mounted a piece of green patterned paper behind it. I used a couple small random heart dies to make embellishments. The speech bubble is stamped in “It’s a girl” ink.

I like to use up any extra pieces. This card was made from all the leftovers I had laying around from this day.

I hope you enjoyed my takes on Catherine Poolers “Call Me” stamp set. It was a lot of fun playing around with this set. I enjoyed using this set so much, that I signed up for Catherine’s Sursee Monthly kit. I’m excited for my first one to arrive! Hope you are all having a wonderful day and don’t forget to have fun crafting!
