Monday Mix Up: Let’s Get Funny!

Today’s Monday Mix Up Challenge is coming to you on Tuesday. My niece is getting married and we were off enjoying the pre-event festivities with family.

Our project is going to use products from Whimsy Stamps, Riley & Co., Honey Bee Stamps, Simon Says Stamp, and All and Create with a little Catherine Pooler thrown in.

To Begin choose some images with lots of expression, like these great stamp sets from Whimsy Stamps. Stamp & color your images on a white card panel.

Next collect some funny sayings that will coordinate with the expressions of your stamps.

Create some Speech bubbles, just be sure your funny sayings will fit in your speech bubble. I used a Simon Says Stamp stencil to create mine. You could also use stamps or die cuts to create speech bubbles. Stamp your funny sayings in the speech bubbles. (Check that they are right side up).

Final step is to add a decorative border to the edge of each card to give the cards a similar look and feel. I chose a brightly colored piece of patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps.

Humor really is the best medicine and it is fun to create these fast easy cards that your friends and family will love! Until next time, Create for the fun of it!

Monday Mix Up: A Rainbow of Caring Bears

May 29, 2023

To help my Content make the rounds through the computerverse, please Like, Comment, Share, and Subscribe. As one just starting out on this journey, it helps so, so much.

So many exciting crafty companies to choose from! Today, I chose Kindred Stamps, My Favorite Things: Die-Namics, Lawn Fawn, Catherine Pooler, and Gina K.

I’m going to use some stamping and masking techniques to make all 6 of these Caring Bears with just the two Bear stamps from the Kindred Stamps set “Bears with Feelings”. Watch the video below to see how it’s done.

Stamp and Color Guide

Make a mask of the noses and bellies from each Bear stamp.

I masked the noses and bellies of each bear to color them with the various oxide inks shown above. Then I used OLO markers to color each belly image.

Die Guide

Die cut each color in rainbow order and add a strip of grass using the grass slimline die.

Die cut 3 clouds using Lawn Fawn stitched cloud dies and Fussy cut all the bears.

Thank you so much for joining me on my Caring Bear journey today. Please give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to Carrie Leigh Creations so you won’t miss a single video. Craft for the Fun of it!

Product List

Heartfelt Friday: Sunflower Trio

May 26, 2023

When I purchase from Heartfelt Creations, I almost always go for the “I want it All” option. So I own most of those supporting stamps and dies that go along with the dimensional flowers. However, I find I use the dimensional flower stamps and dies way more often. So I have challenged myself to be sure I am using all of these fabulous images that I already own.

Stamp & Coloring Guide

I stamped all the flower images in Coffee and the two gray images in Shadow Gray. Stamp 1 of each image except the individual small and large flower, stamp those 3 time each. I used Sunflower, Golden Rod, Vivid Chartreuse, Leaf Green. and French Ultramarine to color the images.

Paper Cutting Guide

Sheet 2B from the Sunflower Paper pad is the only decorative paper you will need for this project. In addition use 1/2 page Lux Gold, and 1/2 Page Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.

Remove the Decorative sunflower border piece from the backside (Sheet 2A)
Cut a 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 piece from the upper right hand corner.
Cut 2 4 x 5 1/4 pieces from the left hand side of the paper.

Video for Sunflower Trio

Thanks for joining me today. Monday Mix Up will be a look back on one of my favorite toys from when I was a kid. Perhaps it will bring back memories for you too. Until then, Craft for the fun of it!
