Heartfelt Creations Friday: Lush Lilac Fairy Tower Card

I used one of my favorite collections to create this Fairy tower, the Lush Lilac. I paired it with the Slim Gateway Rectangle Die to create the Fairy tower I was going for. I love how it all came together. Watch the video below to see how to recreate this fun card.

Die cut a white card base, a white “hinge hider”, a green pattern paper out of the base die from the Slim Gateway Rectangle Die set. Die cut the decorative piece from white and Luxe Silver.

Stamp the Lilac Flowers in Cactus Flower ink, stamp all the other images in Leaf Green ink.

Color using the following ink colors:

Stamp and adhere the sentiment circle inside the doors.

Monday Mix Up Challenge

Monday Mix Up: I Goat you Babe! Card

These two friendly fella’s are the inspiration for todays card. I believe they are sheep, but I happen to have a fun goat stamp set from Trinity Stamps that will work perfectly. I also pulled product from Whimsy Stamps, Waffle Flower, Stamps of Life, Brutus Monroe, and The Ink Blot Shop.

Use a Whimsy Stamps Inverted Scallops Dies to create a scalloped frame out of patterned paper. I used a Brutus Monroe stencil to make wispy clouds with Mint to Be Catherine Pooler Ink. I used Ink Blot Shops Get Grounded Stamp set to add my rocky and grass backdrop. Lastly, the Trinity Stamps I Goat You Babe stamps and dies to make my goats and sentiment.

Use your summer experiences to inspire cards in your craft room using your crafty stash. It is great way to be reminded of fun times. Thanks so much for joining me for today’s Monday Mix Up. Until next time, Create for the fun of it!

Heartfelt Friday: Hydrangea Thinking of You Card

Today I chose the Cottage Garden Hydrangea and the Buttons & Blooms Stitched Background Stamp to make a sweet Thinking of You Card.

Paper Guide:

I used these pieces from the Cottage Garden Hydrangea Paper Collection. A tag is a simple way to add a sentiment to a card.

Die cut two of the outer frames from the Flourish Companion Frame Die Set. One in White for the inside piece and one in Deluxe Silver for the decorative frame piece.

Use the Stitched Background Stamp to stamp the inner frame piece in a dusty blue. I used Catherine Pooler’s Stone Blue Ink. Use a blending tool to add a blue shadow around the edge of this piece.

Watch the video above to see how I create my dimensional Hydrangea using apiece of tissue paper.

Finish off your card with a few silver gems and the Thinking of You tag.

Monday Mix Up: Patchwork Pumpkin

First Fall Card of the Year, I love the fall color schemes!

Todays Products come from some fabulous companies. Heartfelt Creations, Honeybee stamps, and Brutus Monroe. I have a bonus card at the end where I use a bit of Photoplay paper as well.

Use Distress Oxides, or ink of your choosing, to ink a fall colored background.

I stamped my background with a Fall theme (pumpkin patch background from Brutus Monroe) in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed in Ranger Gold embossing powder.

Create dimensional sunflowers with Heartfelt Creations Rustic Sunflower collection. I used Gala Glitz Glitter from Heartfelt Creations for the centers.

Use Honeybee stamps Patchwork Pumpkin Dies to die cut your pumpkin layers. Stamp with the designs you choose. Layer pieces to create your pumpkin. If you don’t have Honeybee stamps version, any pumpkin Die, stencil, or stamp that makes a pumpkin with sections can be used to create a patchwork version.

For this patchwork pumpkin, I used a die and patterned paper along with Honeybee stamps Bitty Fall words sets.

The goal for the Monday mix up is to give you inspiration to go to your stash and pull out product that you already have that can create a version of my idea. Adding different textures and patterns to sections of a pumpkin to create a patchwork effect can be achieved in many ways. I look forward to seeing what you create! Create for the fun of it!

Heartfelt Creations Friday: Card Formula for using up Bits and Pieces

If I go to the effort to make beautiful Florals and greenery, then I want to be sure to use them in a useful way on cards that I can use for almost any occasion. So I created a formula for myself to do just that. By only creating a couple simple items, I can use up extra bits as well as scrap paper. Watch the video below to see my simple plan.

Simple Formula How to Video

Stamp multiple vases. I like to stamp in versa mark ink on vellum and heat emboss in different colors to make my vases, but you can use any color paper you like best.

If I need additional filler flowers, I like to use the sun-kissed Fleur, because it makes a lot of sizes at one time. It is also and easy, one dimensional flower to make.

Next, I sort through my “extra pieces” box and group items together with vases I’ve made. Here is picture of four cards I have grouped and ready to be made. All out of extras!

Choose background papers from your scrap box and cut to 5×7 inches. If you want a colored boarder, cut 1/4″ smaller.

Follow the formula to create multiple ready-to-go cards and say good bye to those extra bits and scraps!
