Catherine Pooler Club Sursee – March

One of my favorite packages of the month is my Club Sursee goodies. If you love stamping and card making, I highly recommend Catherine Pooler products and her club sursee is worth every penny.

All the great products from March Club Sursee

I was excited to use the cute flowered umbrella. I stamped several of them in a rainbow of CP ink colors and used the coordinating die to cut them each out. This card has the bright Samba umbrella. I used the Taylored Expressions circle masking stencil and CP Stone Blue ink to create a stormy circle. The stencil makes it easy to get the circle perfectly centered by using the grid lines already on the stencil. I purposely made the stormy circle darker on the left side and bit lighter where it would be “under my umbrella”. I used the same stone blue ink to stamp the rain coming in from the upper corner of my card and foam mounted my umbrella under the rain. The sentiments are stamped in CP midnight and clear heat embossed. To finish it off I added a piece of washi tape across the bottom, clear stickle dots on the center of the umbrella flowers, and mounted it on a bright yellow A2 dotted rectangle.

For my 2nd card I used three umbrellas stamped in CP Coral Cabana, Pixie Dust, and Sauna ink colors. I continued using the stone blue ink to stencil a stormy sky using My Favorite Things new cloud stencil. I wasn’t happy with my color blending, I managed to get some ink smudged where I didn’t want them, so I improvised and added some cute dotted die cut clouds across the top. I felt the white clouds helped add interest and brighten up sky. In retrospect, I decided the stone blue was just not a “happy enough” blue color to coordinate with my cheery umbrellas. If I were to do this again, I would choose a softer blue color. Again I used foam mount under the umbrellas and clouds and clear heat embossed my sentiment.

I wanted to be sure and utilize some of the other cute stamps in the set besides the umbrella. I chose the water can and flower pots. My Mom always used a big green plastic watering can to water the house plants when I was a kid, so I naturally chose the CP Grass Skirt ink for that stamp. The pots are made with CP Orange Twist and Mandarin Spice ink and the flowers are Sauna ink with Grass Skirt leaves. I paired all this with some bright yellow patterned paper. (scraps from a Stamps of Life 6×6 paper pad). Die Fiesta Blue stamped rain drops to come from the can then Clear heat embossed an Orange Twist stamped sentiment in a simple stitched oval. To finish it off I used some small enamel dots from Whimsy Stamps for the center of my flowers. I liked the happy vibe of this card.

These last two cards were my favorites that I made from these sets. I absolutely loved the rain drop splattered background die. It just adds a bright splash of fun to the front of the cards. The die that cuts the outline around the splash is much bigger, I trimmed it down so more of the patterned paper would show. I foam mounted the splash piece and then adhered the cloud, umbrella, and sentiment. I was very happy with these two cards, I think they would brighten the day of whoever receives them. The insides are stamped with “keep going” and “enjoy your day”.

I’m not finished playing with these fun stamps and dies from the March Club Sursee. There is a sweet rain boot stamp and some fun border stamps that I haven’t used yet. I hope these rainy day cards inspire you to create something fun today!

I would love if you give my blog a follow. Until next time, have fun crafting!
